Nigeria fullback Taye Taiwo will be free to play in his country’s 2010 World Cup/MTN Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Mozambique on March 29, after fears in the media that he may be suspended.

Taiwo was sent-off in the friendly international between the Super Eagles and Jamaica last Wednesday when he fought with Reggae Boyz striker Jermaine Johnson, but red cards collected in friendly games do not carry over to competitive matches.

Nigeria have been drawn in qualifying Group B along with Mozambique, Tunisia and Kenya, with the top team in the pool advancing to the 2010 World Cup in South Africa and the top three teams qualifying for the 2010 MTN Africa Cup of Nations in Angola.
