Simon Elliot is one of the key players in the All Whites squad and having featured in 60 games for his country his experience is sure to play a part in the 2009 FIFA Confederations Cup. The defensive midfielder is a regular in the New Zealand team often proving to be the work engine in the middle of the park.
Elliot definitely knows what it takes to compete on the world stage having taken part in the 2003 FIFA Confederations Cup in France, as well as one of the over-age players in New Zealand’s first appearance in the 2008 Olympic Games. He will also draw from his experience of playing in the toughest league in the world, when he played for Fulham in the English Premiership.
