Another of the US youth brigade to make the transformation into the senior national team with ease. He made his debut in 2005 but has become more of a permanent fixture in the national team since 2007 with the arrival of Bob Bradley as coach.

Recently demoted to the reserves at Hansa Rostock when the team had a change of coach, Pearce has not been left depleted by the club's shocking move and has continued working towards the cementing his place in the Confederations Cup team.

Given his close relationship with US Coach Bob Bradley, who he regularly consults on career advice, Pearce will be as efficient through the Confederations Cup as he has been for the national team over the course of the last two years.

Once the Confederations Cup has come and gone, Bradley will help him relocate to a new club and the planning for the 2010 FIFA World Cup will begin, on the back of what Pearce hopes will be at least a semi-final appearance.
