An accomplished defender playing his club football in the second tier of English Football, he had to travel on the tough road into professional football by working his way through the Sunday and regional leagues of English Football.

Once he had completed college in the United States, he got his break at Watford before the start of the 2004/05 season. He forms part of what could be described as the strongest part of the US team's arsenal.

He has a really physical aspect to his game which could stem from the fact that he is of Scandinavian heritage. Will provide ample back up if needed to do so during the Confederations Cup.
