Egypt To Host Guinea Friendly

July 21, 2009

Egypt will host fellow 2010 World Cup hopefuls Guinea in an international friendly on August 12 in Cairo.

The Pharaohs will use the encounter as preparation for their 2010 World Cup/Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Rwanda on September 5 having worked their way back into contention for top spot in Group C with a 3-0 victory over the self-same Rwandans in Cairo on July 5.

Egypt now trail group leaders Algeria by three points, but will host The Desert Foxes in their final qualifier in November.

Guinea are third in Group E having beaten Malawi 2-1, but lost Burkina Faso (4-2) and Côte d'Ivoire (2-1).
