Morocco Name Preliminary Squad For Qualifiers
|
Morocco have named a preliminary squad of 38 players from which they will select 23 for the upcoming 2010 World Cup/Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Togo in Lome on September 6.
The Atlas Lions trail group leaders Gabon by four points and have played a game more, and so desperately need the three points in Lome to keep their hopes of reaching the World Cup finals in South Africa alive.
All of the players who appeared for Morocco in the 1-1 friendly international draw with DR Congo last week have been retained, while new faces include goalkeepers Issam Badda and Khalid El Askri, and midfielder Ahmed Damiani, all of whom ply their trade in the domestic league.
