Eto’o Treble Sinks Angola

A quite fantastic hat trick from Cameroon’s striking sensation Samuel Eto’o inspired the Indomitable Lions to victory over Angola at the Cairo Military Stadium on Saturday evening. Eto’o, who has scored 18 goals in 19 league games for Barcelona this season, showed he loves scoring for his country too, as Cameroon ran out 3-1 winners in this enthralling 2006 MTN Africa Cup of Nations Group B clash.

Everyone hoping for a major impact from Samuel Eto'o at the MTN Africa Cup of Nations got their wish and then some on Saturday as the striking sensation netted a hat trick for Cameroon in their 3-1 win over Angola. Eto's first was a quite brilliantly curled free kick, his second a fantastic run and header from a Rudolph Douala cross and his third a fierce shot from outside the area, showing off all the talents that have got him 18 goals from 19 games with Barcelona in the Spanish league this season. It all rendered the MTN Man of the Match award a no-contest and if the 24-year old carries on like this, he will be picking up plenty more awards from this tournament.
